GRS | Corteq Director, Julie Sorensen was named Chicago’s Real Estate Finance Forum (REFF) Member of the Year at its 30th Anniversary Party last night.
Real Estate Finance Forum (REFF) is a Chicago-based professional development and networking organization of women in commercial real estate finance who are dedicated to supporting women in our industry and the community.
The purpose of REFF as stated in its bylaws is: “To further the professional development of women in all phases of commercial real estate finance; to promote avenues of communication among professional women inter- and intra-industry; and to encourage the recognition and advancement of professional women in the field of commercial real estate finance.”
The organization was founded in 1987, and today boasts over 150 members. REFF sponsors an annual holiday party, which last year had 1500 commercial real estate professionals attending. Julie has been a member of REFF for 20 years and served as Secretary on its board of directors for two years.
“I am humbled to receive this honor, especially at REFF’s 30th Anniversary,” said Sorensen. “I have enjoyed every minute of my involvement with this organization. It has helped me professionally, and I’ve made great friends.”
