It’s not always about the $.
Recently, the Cleveland office of GRS Group provided title and escrow services on a small building in the inner city of Cleveland, Ohio. This was a small transaction by numbers but a large one in the eyes of the community. This building, located in a mixed-use area on E 93rd Street, will become the fourth location for the Ed Keating Center for sober living.
The Ed Keating Center was founded in 1998 with the help of Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher, Dennis Eckersley. The board members searched for 5 years to find a suitable building as their biggest challenge that confronted them was the right zoning classification.
This building was previously used as St. Catherine’s School prior to the Diocese closing the school. After the building receives over $300,000 in renovations that includes a new kitchen, the appropriate fire safety equipment, and showers it will be a 24/7 operations that sleeps men overnight.
Currently in their various locations the Ed Keating Center helps 210 men and 36 women. The E 93rd locations will house 120 additional men. Over the years, the Ed Keating Center has helped hundreds of individuals determined to overcome their addictions to drugs and alcohol. GRS Group is proud to have played a small role in the purchase of this property that will benefit the greater good!
