SUMMARY:CREFC: Women's Network-First Step Program Corporate Day
DESCRIPTION:CREFC Women’s Network – Community Outreach Committee will be working with the Coalition for the Homeless to partner with their First Step Job Training Program\, that assists low income and/or homeless women in NYC with professional job training and workplace opportunities. \nThe First Step Job Training Program provides candidates with critical office skills and professional training\, needed to achieve financial independence\, through an innovative 14-week curriculum which includes: computer and job skills training\, an unpaid internship with a private company or nonprofit organization\, mentoring\, job placement assistance and post-graduate support. \nThe First Step Job Training Program works with corporations and non-profit organizations to host a Corporate Day that consists of mentoring\, resume building and practice interview sessions for its students (estimated to be between 15-18 candidates). The host corporation or non-profit organization volunteers a space large enough to accommodate the students and mentors for the event. \nOther volunteer opportunities needed for the First Step Job Training Program include professional clothing drives and donations of used laptops. \nIf you are interested in participating or volunteering\, please contact:\n– Libby Luther at lluther@c3cp.com
